- Fri, 16:22: Mmmm... found a whiskey that I love (Leopold Brothers New York Apple). On my way to holding up the drunk writer stereotype.

Oh, egads, January is almost over! How in the hell did that happen? I was supposed to be almost finished with Heartwood by now!
I'm rather afraid this whole year is going to fly. My company is opening a new plant, and I've been designated as someone who will be among the first out there, with lots of travel back and forth. I've so enjoyed living close to where I work, to have to drive again... !!!! There are just so many details, and I am afraid that a 40 hour workweek will soon become a 50 hour workweek... if not longer. I was warned last year that vacation after July will not be approved - since the Plant is now ahead of schedule, I have to assume that I won't be able to take time off after June. Maybe I'll finally accumulate some vacation for once in my life (although I might well lose my sanity).
Speaking of which, I do have to work on Heartwood tonight. I'm rather stuck in the middle, but bound and determined I will have some kind of draft by March 3 (because when I originally set this up, that gave me five full weeks). Guess the count down has begun.
Besides almost finishing Heartwood, I did want to sit down and do a goals review - which I have not gotten to. I went to a very good time management class in November, and just read "Eat That Frog!" (also on time management) which I really enjoyed. Lots of good things were brought up.
And, here's the truth (in one of my favorite quotes): the very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Yes, I may be smart - but clearly I'm doing something wrong. I haven't finished writing a novel, I'm in a job that requires lots of math, I am still single, I still have weight to lose. It's fair to say that I need help. If working on time management will help me, great. If not, I'll try something else. But at least I will do something different.

- Tue, 20:19: @KTHanna Good job! Enjoy your chocolate and popcorn (which makes sense to me, because I totally love Harry & David's Moose Munch).
- Tue, 20:24: Why is fresh bread so addictive? At least I only make small loaves, so it's not quite so bad if I eat half, right?

- Вс, 15:09: Of course it's windy. But that makes me feel less guilty for staying inside and working at my desk on an otherwise beautiful day.
